Inaugurated officially to the public in 1990, located between Jamal Abdulnasser Street and Khalid lagoon, the park is surrounded by a huge fence with 6 main entrances and 8 side entrances. The park contains a range of palm trees, flowers and many different kinds of ornamental trees.
The park contains various recreational games for children, a ship for children to play on and a model settlement of traditional houses to give a glimpse of traditional life in the Emirates.
In the middle of the park, there is a wide area of approx. 11,310 square meters designed to host parties and other occasions. There are also washrooms, women's mosque and number of water coolers. Water irrigation pipe lines were extended to cover the entire park using waste treated and clean water to irrigate different kinds of plants. A development plan is underway to construct a big mosque and shaded car parking. The park will be separated into two parts for ladies and men, following the conservative Islamic attitude in Sharjah.
